Sport England Activemark

What is it?

The Sportsmark is a national kitemark that schools can achieve in PE.  Its purpose is to increase the provision and range of sporting opportunities for children in and out of school.  The key indicator determining whether a school qualifies for one of the kitemarks is its success in enabling pupils to take up their entitlement to at least 2 hours of high quality PE and school sport each week.  Primary schools are also assessed on the range of sports/activities they offer and how many pupils are participating in club sport.  Each year a panel meets to determine whether a school has been successful.

What we achieved

At Barnham we were lucky enough to succeed in achieving a Sportsmark Gold – the highest award possible!  Over 400 schools applied for Sportsmark Gold, but only 200 schools achieved this level.
